Introduction

"Millennial Monk" is a story that takes place in the future,
spanning most of the 21st century.  It's a fictional account
about a new kind of monastic organization, a new kind of
monk whose livelihood is carried out both in the monastery
and also out in the world, where he engages in the
Lord's Service as his particular talent dictates.

This story also addresses what will probably be one of
the most serious challenges in this century, the challenge
of Sustainability of our expanding populations.  The story
focuses on a small region, how the challenge comes to
be addressed in the sense of spiritual responsibility.
